With a highly mobile population of more than 35 million people distributed across many cities, towns and villages in the Kingdom. Logistics service providers generally tend to operate based on a business model that aims to use the most efficient means for delivery and avoiding complicated delivery scenarios. Which means that with a highly mobile population and given the pace of growth in Saudi, customer needs change everyday. Logistics companies, instead of dealing with these changes prefer to reschedule deliveries until it is most cost effective for them to deliver or cancel and return parcels that cannot be delivered cheaply back to the sender- hence leading to the low successful delivery rates (High RTO %).With not much attention being paid to the end-customer, these leads to customer frustration targeted towards the logistics provider and ultimately to the businesses that outsource their services to them.
